What staff are saying.
The first time I entered Timber Hills, it felt so much like home. There’s this comfort, warmth and peace that you feel. And from my first day, it didn’t feel like a job.
My mother was a resident of one of PHS’ senior living communities. The care she received there was truly exceptional. When I was ready to return to work, I sought out a role with PHS specifically because of how well they treated her. Always eager to go the extra mile, and always seeking out ways to make our communities feel more inviting, our staff’s dedication to our residents’ quality of life is apparent in everything that they do.
I’m grateful for Mill Pond: I feel the love from my coworkers as we work as a team. The residents are our inspiration. Above all, I thank God for the opportunity to honor him by serving those entrusted to my care.
God is good by providing a team that can share openly. We can pray for each other, carry loads for each other, and have fun together. I think that is the beauty of the PHS culture and PHS’s success.
I love assisting immigrants in their new life in the U.S. I feel I make an imprint on their lives when I hear declarations of their gratitude. This inspires me to be diligent in tasks bestowed upon me. I feel honored to be part of PHS.
Presbyterian Homes has played a big role in my educational journey. I will forever be grateful for the scholarships I received to keep chasing my dreams — to make the community a better place as well as honor God by enriching lives and touching the hearts of older adults. Now as an RN, I am still in the learning process, and whenever I have a question, someone is always there to inform me and educate me so that I become better.
We have an amazing team at Maranatha! Not only do we work towards cultivating an environment of teamwork, but staff truly love what they do and they look out for each other and the residents. Help is always available when it’s needed, and the team does a great job communicating with each other to ensure residents receive quality care. I’m truly humbled to have the pleasure of working with such a dedicated and passionate group of professionals.”
A lot of good happens here. That’s why I’m still here.
It’s so nice to work in a Christian community. The residents here are amazing. I connect with all of them very well. Everyone is so kind, so compassionate. You feel the love and warmth. It’s wonderful.
I firmly believe God loves us, and we are called to love others. When I look at what God has done for me in my own life and the people He has placed in my life … it is absolutely my privilege to extend that same love to other people. I want to help older adults live with strong bodies and minds so they can share their life experiences with other people, leaving a legacy for their grandkids, for their families, and others.
It’s not a feeling of I have to go to work, but it’s more a question of who do I get to work with today? Who do I connect with and work alongside?
It’s my passion, deep to my heart, I believe in God. I love to go above and beyond, providing the ‘little extras’ like singing and reading devotionals with residents.
It seems that everyone, or nearly everyone, here knows from their life experiences how important a smile, a cheery hello, and friends are to a happy life. Liza and I quickly made new friends and became part of the Norris Square Community. If you’re thinking about making a change in your life situation, I strongly suggest you give our Norris Square community a good hard look-over. I did and I’m very satisfied.
I love coming to work every day to put smiles on the faces of my residents and coworkers and making them happy.
I love caregiving. I love working here, I love what I do and I love the people here. My motto is ‘I was born to serve’ and that’s what I do.
Here every expression of faith is met with grace. As the 4th largest nonprofit senior housing provider in the nation, there are plenty of opportunities to serve – from preparing meals to providing hospice care.
